What are ceramic braces?
Clear, transparent, or tooth-colored may be the best ways to describe ceramic braces. The components are much the same as other braces, with the biggest difference being the material. Ceramic braces are made of clear or tooth-colored ceramic brackets along with an available matching colored archwire all in an effort to achieve a more invisible appearance.
What are the benefits of ceramic braces?
Patients are always at the forefront of our minds. Which is why we pride ourselves in knowing we offer services at our Anacapa Orthodontics offices that can treat any smile that walks through our doors. Below are a few of our other services that we provide:
Traditional braces: metal brackets with colorful elastic bands are the hallmark of these braces that fit all ages and smiles.
Clear aligners: series of plastic molds made by Invisalign or 3M Clarity Aligners designed around digital models of the patient.
Anacapa Orthodontics clear aligners: is our own clear aligner option, custom designed for each patient by Dr. Smith.
Hidden braces: nearly invisible, these braces are fixed to the back of the teeth. Custom InBrace braces are a highly desirable option.
What are the different types of braces and aligners?
For many, the reduced visibility of clear ceramic braces is the most impactful benefit. Patients that feel they may be self-conscious with traditional braces can cast those thoughts aside with ceramic braces. An additional benefit for those who may need MRI tests in the near future is that ceramic braces cause less signal loss and less image distortion than traditional braces. It is not uncommon for traditional braces to need to be removed for an MRI test, which can be expensive.
